I made this rum sauce to go with my eggnog bread pudding. It is very simple and very delicious.
1 cup light brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
fresh grated nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch of salt
2 teaspoons of rum flavoring
Melt the butter and brown sugar in a small pan. When it is melted add the cream and continue to stir. Add the spice and the pinch of salt. You can serve this warm or cold, it is delicious either way.
